David Sampethai / Interzoned

Eleftheria Tseliou gallery is happy to present  David Sampethai’s solo show, ‘Interzoned’.  The show opens on Thursday, December 19 and will be on display until the 1st of February 2014.
It consists of an installation of a body of work units of which have been already presented at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) and for which the artist has gained the highest prize in the context of RSA New Contemporaries, Stevenson Painter of Merit Award, in 2013. David Sampethai’s works include drawings, poems, short stories and music, together forming a personal cosmology and operating as a mechanism for transmitting information and a vehicle for escapism. Combining with originality elements of fiction and reality, and by focusing on different means like painting, writing, and music, David Sampethai’s work, often referring to cinematic narrative practices, invites the viewer to a different, multifaceted approach of the visual work.
The soundtrack of this show was created by the artist in collaboration with Benjha (Other People) aka Nikos Vezanis.
